About

I come from a long legacy of artists.  Paintings that date back hundreds of years adorn the walls of my parent’s home.  My sister is a wonderful artist, creating murals on walls, using her hands to create beauty.  I have never been like that.  My stick people leave something to be desired.  I did however inherit a talent from my father, the eye for photography.  He was a photographer. Dad always had a camera with him (and still does mind you).  He’d take me out once a year for an all day photoshoot.  It was always in June and part of a local photo contest.  I never won the contest but I did find my passion.

Photography is a great medium of art, it’s like taking life and making it how you want to see it.  Adding effects, choosing the perfect angle, capturing the sparkle in someone’s eye, it’s all part of the art.  It’s all real moments that make up people’s lives.  I pride myself in the moment when a bride cries while looking through her photos, or new parents look at my photos and think we created that, that is our life, a milestone that we have come to and now it hangs on our walls, to tell a story, create an emotion, preserve a memory.  That part of photography is the most important part to capture, the feeling of a photo, and the moment it represents.

I completed my bachelor of arts in Media and culture I found that the classes I love the most, and did the best in, were graphic design based.  I could sit in front of the computer for hours making art with photos.  I got a run of the mill job after school but was always doing research on photography techniques, and eventually was given my first professional camera.  It started with a friend’s wedding, working with their photographer to learn the “ropes.”  Then friends started asking my to do beaudoir photos, then I thought to myself that maybe I could do this for a living and make photography my life.

I’ve come along way since then, new equipment, new skills and new insight have helped me to become a professional photographer.

My husband and I have always wanted our professions to be based around doing something that we love. The fact that I can do something that I love and make a business out of it is a wonderful feeling.

I look forward to capturing you!
